Toler, became the bride of Kelly Toler, son of Mr. and Mrs. L.L. Toler. The ceremony was performed at the home of the bride's father by Justice of the Peace J.R. Wiley. Immediately after the ceremony a reception was tendered the bridal party."¹ Lewis Kelly Toler died on 20 April 1957 at age 72. He was buried at High Bridge Cemetery, Caton, Craven County, North Carolina.

     Thomas Jefferson Toler was born on 19 March 1886. He was born on 19 August 1886 according to his death certificate.¹ He married Lucinda Annis Toler, daughter of William Pitt Toler and Almira Ramon Jones, on 4 July 1917. Askins Man Used It To Extract a Splinter From Arm--In Hospital.--Mr. W.H. Toler, a resident of the Askin section of the county and a member of the local battery of field artillery, is lying at St. Luke's Hospital seriously ill as the result of attempting to remove a splinter from his arm with an ordinary brass pin.
Mr. Toler a few days ago stuck the splinter into his arm and endeavored to remove this with a pin. A short time later blood poisoning developed and he was rushed to St. Luke's hospital for treatment.
His condition today is reported as being slightly improved but he is yet a very sick man."¹
He died on 1 August 1917 at New Bern, Craven County, North Carolina, at age 22. The Semi-weekly Sun reported on 2 Aug 1917: "Pin Prick Fatal to Mr. W.H. Toler--Blood Poisoning Developed After He Had Removed a Splinter With It.--Blood poisoning brought on by the use of a small brass pin used in removing a splinter from one of his arms, proved fatal yesterday afternoon to Mr. W.H. Toler, a member of the local battery of field artillery and who was receiving treatment in a local hospital.
Several days ago this young man in some way stuck a splinter in his right arm. Taking a brass pin from the lapel of his coat he removed the offending bit of wood and went on about his business. A short time later blood poisoning developed and he was placed in the hospital for treatment.
For a time it was thought that his condition was improving but yesterday this took a turn for the worse and death soon followed.
The body was today taken to Askins, the home of the deceased, for interment in the family burying ground."² He was buried at High Bridge Cemetery, Caton, Craven County, North Carolina.
